Supernatural
I'm sure I'm waaay behind the times here and everyone but ME has probably already been watching this show, but holy moly!!  I just discovered Supernatural and am completely addicted!  I downloaded the first two full seasons and all the episodes of season three thus far from iTunes and spent a week gorging myself on them.  Ever since Buffy and Angel, I've been struggling to find something to fill that niche.  Doctor Who and Torchwood have helped immensely (love, love, love both those shows!!), but I've seen all the episodes of those and am patiently waiting for new ones, so I was once again floundering, empty, and craving something.  Enter Supernatural.  I LOVE it!!  Great monsters and creepy things (I have to admit, a couple of the episodes have pretty thoroughly scared the bejeebers out of me), great writing, and Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have awesome rapoire.  And can I just say I have the serious hots for Sam Winchester!  Man...it's all I can do not to drool when I watch.  :)

Anyway, for those who haven't seen it yet (like I said, probably everyone knew about it but moi!), check it out!  Like...now!!

XOXO,
ML

Hi ML. Actually I never saw this show, LOL. I may have to watch a show and see if I like. I do like 'paranormal shows' but i'm a wimp when it comes to horror, LOL.

So you found one who hasn't watched this one! I do love MOONLIGHT thats a vamp series on Friday nights (I think CBS). Otherwise I don't really know any paranormal shows. I didn't see Buffy shows. I'm not sure if they were captioned for the deaf so I might have missed it because of that. I've watched a couple reruns on the TV of it and loved it. I'm gonna check if the DVD sets have the close captioning (some shows are captioned later on)

Hi Cathie!

I have the Buffy DVDs, and yes!! They are close-captioned (or subtitled...which is basically the same thing, yes?). You should definitely check them out. I bet you'd love the show!

And you know, I've heard of Moonlight, but haven't had a chance to see it yet. That's definitely another one I'm going to have to watch!

Yeah, with English subtitles I can watch the movies. But too there is a small box that says CC and thats the closed captioned. I guess the English subtitles was mostly used in foreign movies so they kept it, and some too do just closed captioning. So I need either one of them to watch.

Weirdly enough, I never appreciated Supernatural, contrary to a lot of my Web pals. I saw the first eps but got bored quickly enough, like with Prison Break... But I've been devouring the new Doctor Who and even more Torchwood! I discovered John Barrowman, yummy! He's not known at all in France, though now it should start :o)

I already have the first season DVD pack, bought from UK, and the audiobook John's reading. And two of his songs CD (what a voice, aaaah). On BBC7 (radio live on line, lot of audio drama, the kind I was listening to as a teen on French radio) I just heard Torchwood season 2 is starting to air next Wednesday in UK. I can't have access to sections of the official site (for rights reason, me being outside British Islands, blah blah) but I'm sure Captain Jack's back - and James Marsters (Spike) is in the first one ("Kiss kiss, bang bang").

Totally OT, I bought the paper version of "Always" as soon as it was available but I only had time to re-read the first part before Mom was taken to the hospital. Since that RL has been rather hectic and I want to read part two with a quiet mind to enjoy it plainly. So I'll have to wait for some more weeks, I guess.

You know, I have to say that the first several episodes of Supernatural are very "monster of the week-ish", but if you stick with it, toward the end of the first season it really finds its groove, and by season two it's just excellent because it's not so much the stand-alone episodes...there's a lot of story continuity going on, with recurring characters (aside from just the dad) and some themes that pop up over and over again. Season 2 is definitely better than 1. So if you ever get a chance to watch the DVDs, or see it in re-runs, you might give it another shot.

Oh, man, I LOVE Doctor Who and Torchwood! And, yes, isn't John Barrowman just a doll? I love his singing, too. And he's so funny! There's a great clip on You Tube that's hysterical, with him and Carol Burnett and some other singers...they're doing an afternoon performance on Broadway and Carol Burnett has a wardrobe malfunction of sorts, and they all just die laughing. I think if you run a search for John Barrowman and Carol Burnett at You Tube it'll probably come up. Worth watching for a chuckle.

I can't access much of the UK Torchwood website either for the same reason, but BBC Canada has it on its website, and you can see all the episode info there, which is nice!

I'm sorry to hear about your mom. Sending lots of positive energy her way, my friend! And for you, too.

I don't mind watching a bit of violence and seen that in moonlighting. Its part of what the show is, solving murders and the like. But I heard Supernatural can be very graphic so I didn't even check it out. Did you see the web site for Moonlighting? Its pretty cool : http://www.cbs.com/primetime/moonlight/

Best. Show. Ever.
Hey ML!

Long time no write (husband health issues have made things tough around here) but I'm just getting back online and saw your post.

This is the Best. Show. Ever. The brother-love, and the wonderful relationship between the actors in real-life (check out you-tube clips of Jensen & Jared for what great buds they are), not to mention fabulous writing - I've rewatched every episode countless times, it's just AWESOME.

Speaking of Torchwood, have you seen the trailer for S2 first ep? James Marsters (Spike) guest-starring? If not, check out this preview link
